Adams Family Brings Folk Hits to Red Barn
Holland Sentinel....September 16th, 2011 Fresh from a busy summer playing festivals and concerts throughout the Midwest, Lowell's own folk rock quartet, The Adams Family, makes a return appearance at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Red Barn Theatre in Saugatuck With a list of hits that begins alphabetically with the Beatles' "All My Lovin'" and ends with the Kinston Trio's "Worried Man," the Adams Family features just about every folk-rock hit ever made and adds such novelty smashes as "Willie and the Hand Jive" by Johnny Otis, country hits like "Lonesome Blues" by Hank Williams and such jazz pieces as "Tickle Tickle" by Manhattan Transfer. The Adams Family really is a family, featuring Jerry Adams on vocals and guitar, his vocalist sister, Cindy Adams Kropf, Jerry's son, Brian Adams, on vocals and a variety of instruments and Cindy's husband, Dale Kropf, on bass and background vocals. In addition to The Adams Family, all four are key elements in the resurrected pop/dance band Alive & Well, which toured from 1973 to 1988 and was reformed in 2001 and performs on a limited basis.
